Each of our staff members has at least a Post Graduate Degree or a Masters Degree in different aspects of physiotherapy (or about to get one). Between them they have over 100 years of experience they can use to help their patients receive the best care and attention possible with the best possible outcome for their patients. Faye Bastow

Faye has been the principal of Leederville North Perth Physiotherapy Centre since 1993 when it was located in Newcastle St in Leederville. The practice moved to its current location in Mount Hawthorn in April 2003. Faye graduated from the West Australian Institute of Technology in 1973 and completed her Graduate Diploma of Sports Physiotherapy in 1987. She had extensive experience in the public health system before moving into private practice. As well as working at Leederville North Perth Physiotherapy Centre, Faye was an inaugural member of the Curtin Physiotherapy Alumni Steering Committee, she has been a Board member of the Family FriendlyInitiatives Committee of the Health Department of WA, manager of a girls soccer team, manager of a girls netball team and for something completely diffrent she also manages a girls waterpolo team. Faye believes in running a physiotherapy practice where the staff aim to exceed their patients' expectations in terms of results and friendliness.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lyndal Weightman

Lyndal has been with Leederville North Perth Physiotherapy since 1995 and during that time she has had a short break for the birth of her third child. Lyndal graduated from the West Australian Institute of Technology, she completed her post graduate degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 1993 and has regularly attended continuing education courses, not only in her areas of interest (headache, neck pain and lower back pain) but in other areas of the physiotherapy profession. She has also worked in many hospitals and private practices in Australia as well as New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Lyndal is fortunate to have skill in juggling a busy family life, including three sporting children, a busy husband and a new puppy and still manages to come to work with a smile on her face.

 

 

 

 

Kath Benson-Rooney

Kath joined Leederville North Perth Physiotherapy Centre in June 2006. Kath also graduated from the West Australian Institute of Technology in 1984. She completed a Post Graduate Degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 1989. During her time as a physiotherapist she has worked in Perth, London and Vancouver. Kath has also worked as the Senior Outpatients Physiotherapist at Royal Perth Hospital and we are very lucky to have her working with us. As well as her work at Leederville North Perth Physiotherapy Centre, Kath is involved with tuition of students currently enrolled in the Masters of Manipulative Physiotherapy at Curtin University. Kath has a keen interest in the areas of neck pain and headaches, acute and chronic lumbar and lumbo-pelvic dysfunction, and the use of real time ultrasound to assist retraining of core muscle strength.

 

 

 

 

 

 

John Lyon

 John joined Leederville North Perth Physiotherapy in May 2009. He graduated from Curtin University in 2006 with a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy and previous tothat he had graduated from from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelors Degree in exercise and Health Science. John has particular interests in spinal and sporting injuries. Particularly incorporating exercise based rehabilitation to be able to return to normal daily activities and sporting endeavours. Away from work John especially enjoys outdoor activities, such as kayaking, rock climbing, surfing and the occasional game of golf.
